Scholarships and funding

""

Funding for our programmes is very competitive, but there is a range of funding opportunities available.

Across our degree programmes and diplomas, there are several different scholarship and funding opportunities available to applicants. Funding is competitive, and therefore we recommend that applicants investigate all the funding options available to them, both internal and external to the University.

On this page, we have provided some information and links on the scholarship and funding opportunities available from Saïd Business School, Oxford University, Oxford's colleges, and external sources.

We also recommend that you do not delay. Do start to think about funding as soon as you decide to apply - do not wait until you have an offer of a place.

Saïd Business School Funding

Below you will find further details of our Saïd Business School funding which is offered by, or closely associated with, the School.

For some of our funding, you are required to submit an essay and/or tick the relevant box in the 'Funding' section of your application form to be considered.

DPhil

Our DPhil students usually receive full funding over four years, covering course fees and a living expenses stipend. To achieve this, we may ask you to submit additional funding applications and ask that you identify and pursue external funding opportunities.

Some of our MBA scholarships have fixed application deadlines.

Other scholarships are awarded following each MBA admissions stage. All eligible offer-holders are considered at each MBA admissions deadline. However, we cannot guarantee the availability of these scholarships in our later application stages, so early application is recommended.

University and College scholarships

""

Oxford scholarships are open to applicants who apply to programmes that start in September or October and by the programme's funding deadline.

For the majority of Oxford scholarships, there is no separate scholarship application process or extra supporting documentation required. Based on the information supplied in your programme application, you will automatically get considered for scholarships where you meet the eligibility criteria.

For scholarships that do require an additional application or action, use the University's Fees, funding and scholarship search to find opportunities relevant to you and your programme. We recommended that you also look at individual college websites.

You can also visit the A-Z of scholarships to view the list of centrally managed funding schemes available to graduate students.

Loans and external funding

""

Loans, scholarships, and grants are available from organisations external to the University.

Our students often use external scholarships, grants, and student loans to partially or fully fund their course fees and/or living costs.

Loan funding is often dependent on your country of residence or nationality, often linked to government or state-run schemes.

Living costs

""

In addition to funding your programme, you must be fully aware of, and consider very carefully, the likely living costs associated with your chosen programme.

To help plan your finances, the University gives guidance about likely living costs for the upcoming academic year. This information is based on a single, full time graduate student, living in Oxford. For students planning on bringing family, guidance on the living costs for dependants is available.

Further to living costs, you may need to think about additional provisions for other living expenses during your stay.

Paying your fees

""

Once you have been admitted onto one of our programmes and completed the registration process, you will receive an invoice from Saïd Business School confirming your fees.

There are several different ways to pay course fees.

Details on the options are available and can be found on the Paying your fees page.

Donate to scholarships

Our generous donors help to make an Oxford education available to candidates from all backgrounds. We are seeking donors interested in funding scholarships across all our programmes.
