Kate French

MSc in Water Science, Policy and Management

United States

International WASH Specialist with a particular interest in social inclusion and intersectionality, building on a background in sociology and education. Kate is looking forward to exploring the nexus of access, policy, and business with the diverse, international community of scholars at Oxford Saïd. 

Adam Hegedus

Australia

Co-founder and Managing Director of Educating The Future, an international NGO providing education to children in Timor-Leste, Adam is passionate about solving the most complex challenges of our time. He is also COO of Teach Us Consent and plans to lead large for-purpose organisations in the future.

Zelda Hollings

Master of Public Policy
University College
New Zealand

Zelda is focused on decoupling emissions from affordable equitable access to clean electricity. In the last five years she developed code to improve renewable energy integration in Australia, installed solar microgrids in Fiji and Cambodia, and strategised effective decarbonisation at McKinsey & Co.

I cannot be more grateful

I came to Oxford wanting to study an MPP + MBA to further bridge the private sector and government divide, specifically towards sustainable growth. However, I have been able to learn so much more, to engage in activities I would have never imagined.

After growing some of Africa's most impactful health tech start-ups, Ifeoluwa is excited for the opportunity the 1+1 MBA and scholarship will provide her in combining business and health equity principles. She plans to build more resilient health systems and improve health outcomes across the continent.

Dao-Quyen Tran

Vietnam

Quyen believes in equitable access to healthcare. Her work at AstraZeneca has seen her launch respiratory medicines and lead advocacy programs to shape healthcare policy. She wishes to further collaboration between the private and public sectors to accelerate innovation and drive change.

Natnael Araya Abraham

Eritrea

With a career as a practising pharmacist, regulator, and researcher, Natnael has a strong passion for improving implementation in healthcare. Natnael plans to embark on a social innovation idea that is supported with impact investment, to address the gaps in current healthcare to serve communities that are still struggling for basic healthcare access.

Ryan Caplin

MSc in Sustainability, Enterprise and the Environment

Ryan cares passionately about helping people live clean and dignified lives. He aims to help eliminate solid waste pollution in the developing world, beginning in West Africa. Ryan previously worked at several tech companies and start-ups, was a US Fulbright Fellow in Ghana, and co-founded a recycling company (Recyclops) in the US.

Sophie Fry

Sophie is a passionate public policy professional specialising in international financial services. She spent six years at the UK Treasury, most recently as Private Secretary to the Economic Secretary. Sophie hopes the joint MPP and MBA will support her passion to design global policy frameworks and regulations that ensure financial services are a true enabler of the UN Sustainable Development Goals.

Raffy Maristela

Raffy aspires to build a more equitable public education system in the US. He believes deep community engagement, cross-disciplinary partnerships, and focus on the most underserved communities enable high-quality, accessible education for every learner. He was inspired by the leaders he worked with and hopes to bring their wisdom and energy to Oxford and beyond. 

Diego Rojas Arancibia

Bolivia

Co-founder and CEO of Tu Beca Bolivia (TBB), an NGO focused on education and entrepreneurship. TBB has tutored over 4,500 young Bolivians, incubated over 100 ideas and accelerated 20 startups. Diego also works with VC funds, Angel Investors, and fintech firms with a social impact focus.

Isabela Uribe

Consulted in the retail, nonprofit, and technology sectors at Bain & Company, focused on growth strategy and operating model. Isabela also joined the United Nations World Food Programme in Rome as an Innovation and Change Management consultant working on UN Reform and Common Premises.
