Your career journey

We are here to support you as you navigate your career journey.

We work to an established career track model that will equip you with the tools you need to reflect, discover and activate your career purpose and goal. Whether you are looking to explore, accelerate, or transition to an alternative career direction, this model will frame your job search strategy.

Navigate your career journey

We will help you reflect, discover, develop, activate and reconnect.

Reflect

As you embark on your studies, we understand that you may need help to define who you are, your purpose and what you want to achieve.

Your strategy will be informed by our bespoke Oxford Saïd Careers Academy, a talent development programme, that has been designed to support you on your career journey both before and whilst you embark upon your studies.  This online and face-to-face content is delivered across various courses, including Career Orientation (MSc Finance and Economics), Career Foundations, Career Reflections and Personal Development Planning (MBA) and Executive Careers Transitions (Executive MBA). This framework allows you to reflect on your current career direction and what a career transition or progression means to you.

Discover

We encourage you to explore the recruitment landscape.

So you can understand how best to act on your analysis, observe industry trends, and think more frequently about what you need to do to progress both within and across different fields of work. Engage in your exploration through employer and alumni information events, our Consulting Development, Finance, Global Industry and Impact programmes, strategic networking, our faculty insight and a suite of digital resources and co-curricular activity to support your journey.

Develop

people in class

Partner with a career coach to assist you to develop your critical skills to help influence with credibility and impact.

We provide you with one-to-one and group advisory sessions with internal and external industry coaches to help you clarify your direction. If you are unsure and want to explore your options, coaching is a great way to create a tailored strategy. Alternatively, those students looking to transition will want to engage through learning pathways, elective courses and timely employer interactions to nurture a more focused strategy. However, if you are looking to accelerate, your linear progression will benefit from developing a strong value proposition from coaching in tandem with our talent development programme, co-curricular experience and OBN membership.

Using our bespoke online student careers portal, you can book appointments for confidential one-to-one career coaching, register for events, and access job opportunities which can provide you with the assistance to move forward.
