His Excellency Dr Ali Qassim Jawad has been appointed as an Executive in Residence at Saïd Business School, University of Oxford.

A world respected expert in Middle East public sector transformation, the School has been working with Dr Jawad over the last seven years, supporting his work delivering government transformation including Oman Vision 2040 through our world-leading executive education. This includes the National Collaborative Leadership Program (NCLP), which brings together Oman’s government and private sector leaders, giving them tools and techniques to build cross sector partnerships.

As an Executive in Residence at Oxford Saïd, Dr Jawad will be developing new insights, events and executive programmes for leaders working at the intersection of government and business and also delivering public value. This will bring further opportunities for research, thought leadership and education, generating important insights for Oman's leaders and change makers, and helping them shape the future of the country.

Commenting on the appointment, Soumitra Dutta, Peter Moores Dean of Oxford Saïd, said: ‘I welcome the opportunity to deepen our important ties with Dr Jawad and Oman, as we support their leaders in shaping the future of the country. As our new Executive in Residence, he brings a wealth of incredible experience and will be a great asset to our academic community.’

Dr Jawad said: ‘I am delighted to serve as an Executive in Residence at Saïd Business School, University of Oxford. The school has a long and distinguished history of developing world-class leaders, and I am excited to contribute to its mission, drawing upon my extensive experience and thought leadership.’

In January 2022, Dr Jawad was appointed by Royal Decree as President of the Royal Academy of Management in Oman, in recognition of his expertise in public sector transformation, having led policies and strategic programmes at institutional and national levels in the Middle East for more than 30 years. The new institution is envisioned to be the centre of excellence for public and private sector leadership within Oman, reflecting a similar vision to Oxford Saïd, as being the home of leadership education within the UK.
