Peter’s research interests are impact investing, African development, small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and low-cost education in Africa. 

Peter's DPhil research at Oxford is looking at the role of impact investing in financing non-state, low-cost early years' and primary schools in Africa.

As CEO of the Summit Development Group, Peter works with impact investors and financial institutions in sub-Saharan Africa. Peter is the Senior Advisor on the Cambridge Education-managed DEEPEN programme in Lagos where 70 per cent of children are educated by low-cost schools. He is also co-lead of the Affordable Education Finance with Capital Plus Exchange of Chicago, USA.

Peter has over 25 years of commercial experience in the UK and he has worked for the Enterprise Banking Group (Botswana), BancABC (Botswana), CDC, Africa Trading (South Africa), BhS plc and Mazars.

Peter is an experienced international speaker, a Board member of the Bean There Coffee Company (South Africa), Send a Cow (a UK charity promoting rural livelihoods in Africa) and the Hugh Pilkington Charitable Trust. This is a UK charity which, with the Windle Trust, runs schools and gives scholarships to African tertiary students.
