John teaches the full-time MBA elective class 'Negotiations: Strategy and Practice'.
John is also on the adjunct faculty at the University of Chicago’s Booth School of Business, where he teaches two MBA classes: Strategic Leadership and Strategies & Processes of Negotiation. He also lectures at the Harris School of Public Policy and the Pritzker School of Medicine, and designs and delivers numerous open enrollment and custom executive education programs.
Open enrollment programs in which he teaches include AMP, ADP, the Global Senior Management Program (taught in partnership with IE Business School), and Strategic Business Leadership. Custom clients include Alfa, American College of Surgeons, CKGSB, Kiewit, Kuwait University, and Merrill Lynch.
John serves as the faculty director for AbbVie, Brainlab, Civil Service Bureau of Hong Kong, Edelman, Winston & Strawn, and Workiva.
John’s research addresses questions relating to firm and individual decision-making, collective intelligence and information pooling. Other interests include organizational design, social network analysis, and social capital.
Before moving into academia, John was a partner with Accenture.
John holds an MBA and a PhD from the University of Chicago’s Booth School of Business, and an undergraduate degree from Vassar College.
