Profile

John teaches MBA and EMBA students at Saïd Business School.

He is also a senior lecturer in leadership at the University of Chicago’s Harris School of Public Policy, teaching strategy, leadership, negotiations, decision-making, and organisational psychology to graduate students and senior executives.

John also teaches healthcare leadership in a double master’s degree programme in health policy, taught jointly by the University of Chicago and the London School of Economics and Political Science.

Before entering academia, John was a Partner with the consulting firm Accenture, where he handled engagements for pharma, med device, and clinical research organisations, including Johnson & Johnson, Novartis, Roche, PPD, PRA, and Covance. He also held senior roles in sales and marketing at enterprise software companies, including Siebel and Oracle. In these roles, he negotiated, sold, and implemented complex, multi-national, multi-million dollar projects around the globe.

John received a PhD and MBA in General Management from the University of Chicago’s Booth School of Business, and an undergraduate degree from Vassar College.

 

 

Engagement

John is a sought-after speaker and consultant across industries, particularly within healthcare. He has recently presented to the American College of Surgeons, including to its Board of Regents, and delivered a grand rounds lecture to the University of Chicago’s Department of Orthopaedic Surgery and Rehabilitation. He has also delivered keynote speeches for the American Orthopaedic Association and the Association of Program Directors in Surgery.

John currently serves on the Advisory Board of the Profitable Ideas Exchange, which builds communities of senior executives to tackle many of the world’s greatest challenges and consults with clients across industries and geographies.
