Until recently, Shefali was the Chief Operating Officer and Chief Compliance Officer of TrueLayer and was an early employee at Stripe where she was their Chief Compliance Officer and MLRO for Europe, and responsible for the licensing, regulatory oversight including risk, and compliance of Stripe’s operations in Europe.

Prior to Stripe, she led compliance, business conduct and risk across Europe, the Middle East, India and Africa for Apple, was the Chief Compliance & Ethics Officer for Christie's worldwide, and was in private wealth compliance for Goldman Sachs across Europe and the Middle East.

Shefali teaches at Saïd Business School at Oxford on start-ups, leadership, decentralised finance and crypto, she sits on the Board of the Maker Foundation (USA; originators of the DAI stablecoin), and Tyro (AUS; ASX: TYR), and holds strategic advisory positions at the Barefoot College, and Nye Health.

Shefali is a graduate of RMIT, LSE, and Oxford University where she gained qualifications in law, economics and finance, and management. Between 2016-2020, Shefali was named on Innovate Finance's Most Powerful Women in FinTech List, and in 2017, she delivered her first Tedx talk, on ethics and business. She splits her time between London, and Melbourne.
