Profile
Maja is a senior leader with expertise on sustainability, environmental, social and corporate governance (ESG), renewables, governance, and organisational development, with broad experience from emerging markets. She currently holds a senior leadership role at Europe’s largest generator of renewable energy.
Maja spent the first part of her career based in emerging markets. This included nearly ten years based in Africa working for the British government and others, where she managed large investments in projects to enhance governance and sustainable development. Having seen the important role business can play in driving sustainable development, she decided to switch sectors and join the largest generator of renewable energy in Europe, Statkraft, in 2013.
She has held different roles at the company, managing compliance, governance and sustainability topics. In addition to being responsible for the overall sustainability strategy at the company, she is also responsible for a redesign of the entire management system of the company to enable delivery on growth targets.
She has recently completed an Executive MBA at Saïd Business School and she holds a board role with Transparency International Norway.
Teaching
Maja is a guest lecturer on topics related to ESG on the MBA and Executive MBA.
