Profile

Henry has more than 20 years' professional experience across finance, emerging markets, impact investing and political and economic development.  

At Saïd Business School, Henry actively collaborates with the Skoll Centre for Social Entrepreneurship, Executive Education and the Careers Development Centre. He is also a senior consultant to the World Bank/CGAP, leading a blended finance research initiative. In addition, he is an executive Board member and Chair of the Governance Committee of the Microfinance Information Exchange Inc. (MIX), a trustee and Investment Committee member of the Wenner-Gren Foundation and a Board member of Amigos of Costa Rica.

Previously, Henry served as the Head of Research and Advisory at responsAbility Investments AG, a $3 billion specialised asset manager in impact investing. He oversaw its thought leadership, technical assistance and sustainability/impact integration strategies.

Henry has also spent time at Morgan Stanley, serving as a Vice President for Emerging Markets Debt Investing, as a founding member of the Microfinance Institutions Group and as part of its Latin American Private Wealth Management Division. Henry has also held other positions at the World Bank, the United Nations Development Program, and the Government of Costa Rica.  

He holds an MBA from Oxford University (Skoll Scholar), a Master's degree in Public Administration from Harvard University (Fulbright Scholar) and a BA in Political Science from the University of Costa Rica. 

Research

Henry is currently a PhD candidate at ESCP Europe within the Doctoral School of Management of the Panthéon-Sorbonne University of Paris I, where his research and teaching focus on impact investing.

Teaching

Henry is the Programme Director and Co-Tutor of the Oxford Fundamentals of Sustainable Investing, a customised Executive Education course for ABN AMRO.
