Hazel was previously Director of Strategy at the Government Digital Service and brings over 20 years’ experience of working closely with Ministers, Permanent Secretaries and Non-Executive Boards in policy, operational and corporate civil service roles.
At Oxford, Hazel is Lead Facilitator on the IPA/Oxford Saïd Major Projects Leadership Academy and is a passionate advocate for bring together the latest academic insight with practitioner experience. As an Associate Faculty member, she co-designed and teaches on the IPA/Oxford Induction Course for government Senior Responsible Owners (SRO Fundamentals).
More widely she operates a portfolio of advisory and executive coaching work, via her own company (Hazel Bees Consulting Limited), as an Associate with Edgecumbe Consulting Group and for Deloitte. Hazel is also a regular reviewer of the highest risk Government major projects for the Infrastructure and Projects Authority (IPA) and has led two in-depth Reviews of the remit and effectiveness of Arms’-Length Bodies published on GOV.UK.
In addition to being an alumna of the Major Project Leadership Academy, Hazel graduated from the Civil Service/London School of Economics Executive Master in Public Policy and is completing a post-graduate Executive Coaching Certificate at Henley Business School.
