Grant Phillips left the Barclays Group after a 29-year career in 2006. A University of Oxford graduate, Grant joined Barclays in 1977 and he has served both in the UK and overseas. Grant's last overseas posting was as Caribbean director for four years, based in Barbados.
He returned to the UK in 1993 following which his roles included MD of Barclays Unicorn (asset management) and Director for Communications and Training for the Group’s Corporate Banking Euro Programme, where he was one of the Bank’s ‘Euro experts’, presenting on TV and radio and at over 100 conferences.
Grant was MD of the Bank’s Agricultural Banking Division during the 2001 foot and mouth crisis. His last role was as Director for Strategy and Marketing for the Bank’s Corporate Banking middle market strategic business unit.
