Profile

Geoff is the Founding Director of Narrative Leadership Associates, a consultancy focused on the use of storytelling for sustainable leadership and at the forefront in the emerging field of narrative leadership and storytelling in organisations.

 

Geoff has taken his work on narrative leadership into a wide variety of organisational settings, including Action for Children, BAE Systems, the UK Civil Service, Deloitte, the London Probation Service, PwC, Beachcroft, the universities of Bath, Oxford and Surrey, Her Majesty’s Revenue and Customs, and the National Health Service.

Geoff has co-created and facilitated leadership development programmes in a range of contexts, including the national police Accelerated Promotion Scheme and latterly the Top Management Programme at the National School of Government.

He completed an MBA at Henley Management College (1991) and a PhD in action research at the University of Bath (2002).

Research

Geoff has published widely in academic and professional journals, as well as authoring two non-fiction books on storytelling and narrative leadership. He is also a published writer of memoir, poetry and fiction.

Teaching

At Saïd Business School, Geoff teaches and supervises postgraduate students on the Consulting and Coaching for Change Programme. He regularly contributes to customised leadership programmes. He is also Associate Professor of Narrative Leadership at the Ashridge Hult International Business School, where he teaches and supervises doctoral students.
