A Senior Fellow in Management Practice, Alex focuses on the intersection of the media and artificial intelligence, within his work on the Marketing team at Saïd Business School.
Alex is a frequent industry speaker around the world on how media companies are approaching the arrival of AI.
Alex was the author of the Routledge books ‘Media Management and Artificial Intelligence’ (2022) and ‘Media Management and Live Experience’ (2024).
He is currently working on a new book for late 2025 on ‘Entrepreneurship in Media and Entertainment.’
In a media career prior to returning to academia in 2017, Alex created and grew several production companies, and was shortlisted six times as Entrepreneur of the Year.
Alex is a voting member at BAFTA and has been a trustee at UNICEF UK since 2017.
Alex has degrees from Oxford, Columbia, INSEAD and a PhD in video optimisation for e-commerce.
Research
Alex’s textbook ‘Media Management and Artificial Intelligence: Understanding Media Business Models in the Digital Age’ was published by Routledge in November 2022. In 2025 it will also be released in Turkish and Korean versions.

Teaching
In core courses, Alex teaches Marketing courses at BA, MBA and Executive MBA level at SBS.
Also a Lecturer at St Hugh’s College, Oxford, Alex teaches General Management at undergraduate level within the Economics and Management BA programme.
In elective modules, Alex runs the MBA course ‘The Business of Arts, Culture and Entertainment.’
At Executive MBA level, he runs the ‘AI for Executives’ module. Alex also runs many AI sessions on other executive courses at Saïd Business School.
