Hi, I'm Emily. I'm originally from Washington, D.C., and right now I'm studying my MBA here at Saïd Business School the University of Oxford. Join me today to find out what a day in my life looks like. This morning I had marketing class with Professor Rhonda Hadi. Marketing is one of the core courses during the MBA, which allows me to have a core grounding of business fundamentals during my year here at Oxford. My favourite part of the programme is that they have a ton of electives to choose from, which means I can customise the MBA to fit my interests and my career goals. All of my classes take place here at the business school, and it's a great place to connect with all my classmates. One of the things I love most about the Oxford MBA experience is the community. Having such an international cohort has expanded my viewpoints and opened my mind to so many new ideas and possibilities for my future. After class, I head back to my college, which is just a short walk from the business school. Every MBA student here at Oxford belongs to a college, which gives me access to the wider Oxford community, as well as providing my accommodation for the year. My college, Christ Church is a huge part of why I love it here with its history and its scenery. I love quiet time to connect with nature, so walking in the meadow or the student garden is extremely relaxing and helps me recharge. Studying at Oxford is extremely inspiring. It's amazing to know that I get to walk on the same pathways as Tolkien and Albert Einstein did so many years ago. Being part of a college has allowed me to partake in activities outside of the MBA. At dinner, I can talk to graduate students from other programs about their studies and the research that can lead to fascinating conversations that I would not have had in any other school. To me, the college experience at Oxford is whatever you make of it. I never imagined that I'd be playing polo while getting my MBA, but thanks to my college, I got involved and now I'm the social secretary of Christ Church. I'm happy that I could share a taste of what my life here looks like as an Oxford MBA student, but now it's time to get to work on my assignments and get some rest ready to do it all again tomorrow. Good night.
