I'm grateful to the Pershing Square Foundation for making my dream of Oxford possible. I was fortunate enough to get the Pershing Square Scholarship that allowed me to come to Oxford for two years without which I wouldn't be here today. Without this scholarship the MBA wouldn't have been possible for me. This scholarship is for exceptional individuals who want to go out and make a real difference in the world. Through the scholarship we have access to a huge network of influential thought leaders from around the world. We are paired with mentors throughout this process and the mentor that I was paired with was Wendy Kopp. She is the CEO of Teach For All. As a former educator myself it was a dream come true to be able to interact with Wendy, to get to know her, how she got to where she is, what her ideas were for me moving forward, and any best practices that she could share with me. In addition, being here at Saïd, I've also been able to attend a variety of conferences and workshops including the Skoll World forum. The Pershing Square Scholarship to me was the most incredible opportunity I could find out there. I'm so happy that I came to Oxford as a Pershing Square scholar. I know that the support will continue beyond the 1+1 MBA programme. There's no other opportunity like it.
