The silence of the monochrome contains more than words can express. As a surface it remains silent, you have to bring your thoughts or yourselves to it. But, faced with such a surface that is not ‘speaking’, what is the viewer to do to engage with it? ‘The act of painting, of covering up, in fact opens up the question of what it's hiding and why?

The critical thing with digital is to associate it with scale. Don't think of it as digital or traditional, digital or analogue. It's digital and analogue still.
