Accessibility

Park End Street

Public transport

We are next to Oxford Train Station and the station’s bus stop is the closest to the school. The route into our building is completely flat. 

Parking

Parking is available in the basement and should be booked in advance by calling 01865 288803.

Entrance

The East Wing is accessed via a ramp on the right of the building and then through an automatic door by fob access. There is also a bell here if you do not have a fob.  Part of the reception desk is lowered. All doors are either automatic or can be held open with Door Minders. There are two lisft servicing every floor.

The West Wing is at the front of the building and is level.

Toilets

There are accessible toilets on each floor.

Hearing loops

All lecture theatres are fully wheelchair accessible and also all have a T-Loop function for hearing aids.

Egrove Park

Public transport

All Oxford buses are wheelchair accessible and the Egrove Park 'arrival' stop has a lowered kerb. 

Entrances

There are three accessible entrances:

  1. East Wing ground floor - to the left of the main entrance stairs
  2. East Wing First Floor - ramp to the right of the main entrance steps 
  3. West Wing - ramp to the right of the main entrance steps

En-suite facilities

Two bedrooms are specially adapted and feature:

  • en-suite wet rooms with a flip-down seat and low shower controls
  • telephones has large buttons
  • all plugs,  light switches, window handles and the thermostat are mid-wall level
  • remote control blinds
  • clock has large figures 

Toilets

Wheelchair accessible toilets can be found on Level 1 East Wing and in the West Wing in the Nautilus Room and opposite the New Chester Room.

Teaching rooms

All teaching rooms are wheelchair accessible (desks and chairs) and the Clifford Barclay Lecture Theatre also has spaces for wheelchairs. All rooms have telephones so you can contact the Porters if you need any assistance. There are also Assistance cords at points in the East Wing. A lift links the two floors of the East Wing.

Hearing loops

There is an induction loop in the Clifford Barclay Lecture Theatre and at Reception. A ‘Conversor’ portable unit is available.
