Every year, we hold a three-day symposium where the world's leading academics in business taxation discuss the latest research. Typically, this includes experts in economics, law and accounting.

Summer Conference

Our annual summer conference attracts over 200 delegates from business, professional firms, governments and academia. Past speakers have included leading figures from Google, PwC, the OECD (Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development), the United Nations, the finance ministries of Germany and Ireland, and HM Treasury.

The theme of the 2018 event was 'Taxing the digitalised economy. Tailored change or wide-ranging reform?'

Doctoral Conference

Lecture

Held annually in September, our two-day doctoral conference gives current PhD students and young researchers* the chance to present their paper and receive feedback from their peers and Centre staff in a friendly and stimulating environment. It also allows them to network and build future collaborations.

We welcome submissions on any topics related to business taxation, including economics, law, accounting and other disciplines, as well as interdisciplinary contributions.

A Best Paper Award, with a prize of £500, is presented at the event.

*within three years of completing their PhD.
