Oxford x Yope Award
The Oxford x Yope award is a $100,000 (USD) award for one student entrepreneur, empowering them to bring their world-changing company to life. The award aims to support an Oxford University affiliated start-up looking to make a positive impact in one of four areas:
- Artificial Intelligence
- Healthcare
- Climate tech and energy
- Sustainable consumption.
Who is eligible?
The award is open to current students and alumni no more than 24 months after graduation at time of award. Shortlisted nominees will be selected by a University committee.
Companies and teams must have participated in an entrepreneurship-related programme at Oxford University through:
- The Entrepreneurship Centre
- Oxford University Innovation
- EnSpire
- Oxford Science Enterprises
- Oxford Entrepreneurs
Entries may be considered from participants of other similar entrepreneurship programmes across the University of Oxford.
The company must also meet the following conditions:
- be registered in the UK, US, or any country with strong rule of law and stable government
- have a team size of greater than one person
- be pre-A series funding stage, or have received no more than £500,000 of funds.
2024 winner
The 2024 finalists presented their start-ups on stage at Oxford Saïd Entrepreneurship Forum and Ultrablanket, founded by Netzahualcoyotl Hernandez-Cruz, was presented with the award by Michael Baum, Founder, CEO and Chairperson of The Yope Foundation, and Kathy Harvey, Associate Dean, MBA and Executive Degrees at Saïd Business School.
