An MBA remains one of the most effective ways to boost your career or facilitate a change in direction. The numbers of Oxford MBA students entering careers in Global Industry (including Healthcare, Technology, Media, Energy and Industrials, and FMCG, Retail and E-Commerce) are increasing year on year. Our latest MBA employment report reveals an increase from 28% in 2009/10 to 39% in 2016/17, and this number continues to grow.

If you are looking to progress your career or switch careers to Global Industry, our programme offers an impressive and diverse curriculum, supported by a comprehensive co-curricular careers provision.

The programme

Our core courses allow you to examine the foundations of business and then further refine your skills in relevant disciplines such as marketing, strategy, operations or finance through elective courses taught by leading academics and industry practitioners. Our students benefit from the world-class research being generated by the many international experts who teach at Saïd Business School.

Practical skills

Alongside your academic programme, you will be offered practical skills development training to support your professional development. If you are looking to move into roles in Global Industry, this includes product management training, case skills workshops and marketing competitions with global organisations.

Careers support

Our Global Industry team is dedicated to helping you find and prepare for a role that suits your skill set and meets your career aspirations. We have two specialist career coaches, working alongside expert industry advisors to provide one to one support, group sessions and mock interviews.

We develop relationships with organisations across a wide range of sectors including Healthcare, Technology, Media, Energy and Industrials, and FMCG, Retail and E-Commerce. We organise an annual programme of events on and off-campus in partnership with companies from larger “blue chip” brands to smaller organisations, providing you with opportunities to grow your network and learn more about post-MBA opportunities across Global Industry.

Our Talent Development Programme also provides invaluable personal and professional skills development through regular workshops, interviews and individual sessions.

Network

Students and alumni of the University of Oxford have access to many networks including their college and Business School Alumni networks to student-run groups called Oxford Business Networks (OBNs). These groups and alumni networks present valuable opportunities and contacts for MBA students entering these industries.

With one of the most prestigious faculties in the world and an extensive curriculum of electives, combined with the opportunity to develop essential practical and technical skills, Oxford’s MBA equips its students to meet the demands of today’s recruiters in this challenging market.
