The thinking behind the programme

Drawing on the extensive research from the School's leading Strategy research area, you’ll learn about the Oxford view of strategy, guided by the Oxford 4-Ps model comprising the following themes: 

  • Purposes: The fundamental aspirations calling for action in an organisation
  • Players: The key stakeholders who drive the successful delivery of a strategy
  • Partnerships: The web of competitive and collaborative relationships that sustain a strategy
  • Processes: The means by which strategies are made and delivered

The programme is enriched by insights from Oxford faculty and practitioner alumni exemplifying the 4-Ps model of strategy in action. Throughout the modules, the emphasis will be on applying insights from the 4-Ps model to your own organisation, enabling you to complete the programme with your own strategy playbook ready for execution.

There is much to be gained by both companies and by the economy as a whole, from professionalising the practice of strategy. Strategy is changing..making new demands upon its practitioners..and we must support practitioners in honing these skills.
