About the programme

In a rapidly changing business landscape, strategy development needs to evolve to adopt a broader view of thinking.

Working environments are becoming increasingly uncertain, and traditional approaches to organisational strategy are no longer sufficient. This highly practical programme uses rich global case studies to engage with new concepts, directly associating the theory to practical application.

Designed for business leaders and senior managers responsible for creating and driving strategic objectives within their organisation, participants will gain tools to better prepare for the future and tackle the nuances of contemporary business.

Delivered in partnership with online learning provider, GetSmarter, you will be part of a community learning together through a dedicated Online Campus.

On completion of this programme you’ll walk away with:

  • A new approach to strategy that focuses on breadth in strategic thinking, informed by the unique Oxford strategy framework.
  • The ability to lead an organisational strategy that considers the challenges of complexities within changing environments, stakeholders, and goals.
  • A personalised strategy playbook that combines theory and practice, which you can apply immediately to your own business context.
  • Insights from renowned thought leaders, based on research from Oxford faculty and significant experience from global industry experts.
  • Access to the official Oxford Executive Education Alumni group on LinkedIn, and a range of other benefits.

The thinking behind the programme

Drawing on the extensive research from the School's leading Strategy research area, you’ll learn about the Oxford view of strategy, guided by the Oxford 4-Ps model comprising the following themes:

  • Purposes: The fundamental aspirations calling for action in an organisation
  • Players: The key stakeholders who drive the successful delivery of a strategy
  • Partnerships: The web of competitive and collaborative relationships that sustain a strategy
  • Processes: The means by which strategies are made and delivered

The programme is enriched by insights from Oxford faculty and practitioner alumni exemplifying the 4-Ps model of strategy in action. Throughout the modules, the emphasis will be on applying insights from the 4-Ps model to your own organisation, enabling you to complete the programme with your own strategy playbook ready for execution.

There is much to be gained by both companies and by the economy as a whole, from professionalising the practice of strategy. Strategy is changing..making new demands upon its practitioners..and we must support practitioners in honing these skills.
