About the programme

Artificial intelligence is transforming the way organisations operate and innovate, but turning potential into impact requires more than just technical implementation. It demands leadership. The Oxford AI-Driven Business Transformation Executive Programme, delivered in collaboration with GetSmarter, is designed to equip senior professionals with the strategic perspective, cross-functional knowledge and ethical grounding needed to lead AI innovation at scale.

Over five months, this online programme will help you move from AI ideation to real-world application. Drawing on content from three leading Oxford Saïd programmes, the curriculum supports you in developing and deploying AI strategies that align with broader business goals and deliver sustainable competitive advantage.

Programmes in this series

This learning journey leverages content from three leading online Oxford programmes to provide you with core AI, leadership and strategy skills to drive a competitive advantage for your company.

Artificial Intelligence: Over six weeks, you will explore the capabilities of AI and gain an in-depth understanding of AI history, functionality, capabilities and ethical considerations. You will have the opportunity to reflect on the implications and opportunities of AI in various contexts, and build a solid business case for its implementation within your organisation. See programme outline.

Strategic Innovation: Following a one-week programme break, you will begin Section II by challenging your existing ideas of innovation beyond technological ‘disruption’. Over six weeks, you will adopt a strategic approach to innovation; specifically, you’ll learn to build organisational systems, structures and culture that routinely facilitate innovation. See programme outline.

Executive Strategy: After a one-week programme break, you will learn about the Oxford view of strategy, including its focus on breadth in strategic thinking and its core framework guided by the four Ps of strategy: Purposes, Players, Partnerships and Processes. Over seven weeks, you will create your own strategy statement, and become equipped to propose improved strategy processes for your organisation. See programme outline.

This highly practical programme uses rich global case studies to engage with new concepts, directly associating the theory to practical application.

What you’ll learn

By the end of the programme, you will be able to:

  • Understand the strategic intersection of AI, innovation and business transformation
  • Identify how AI can reshape business models and unlock new value across sectors
  • Translate emerging technologies into practical, organisation-wide solutions
  • Lead cross-functional innovation that integrates technology, culture and governance
  • Apply the Oxford view of strategy — Purposes, Players, Partnerships and Processes to design your own AI transformation playbook

You will also complete a capstone project that consolidates your learning into a tailored strategy for your organisation.

Who is this for?

This programme is designed for:

  • Senior professionals responsible for, or influencing, AI strategy and innovation
  • Consultants, entrepreneurs and business leaders seeking to create a competitive advantage through AI
