Executive Education at Oxford - How are we different?

A chance for transformational thinking

Executive Education at Saïd Business School draws on the entire resource base of Oxford University, to offer executive development that both inspires individuals and creates significant business impact through programmes that enable transformational thinking.

Our portfolio of future-facing open-enrolment, diploma and custom programmes build long-term partnerships with our clients – developing, empowering and supporting their activities at both the individual and organisational level. Oxford provides personal interaction and peer to peer learning opportunity, bringing together diverse senior level executives from across the world allowing participants to benefit from discussing strategic questions with peers from regions at different stages of the economic cycle.

The Oxford approach

The Oxford experience is challenging, inspirational and stimulating, our programmes do not provide any easy answers. Instead, senior decision makers and young managers alike are encouraged to question the usual management models and ways of thinking, to widen their perspectives, and to understand their own challenges and capabilities.

Participants are immersed in varied activities, teaching styles and experiences to maximise personal interaction, debate and discussion. Tutorials and lectures combine with non-traditional learning exercises such as 'action learning' projects, improvisation, game-playing, and exploring participants' personal responses to literature.

While our programmes benefit from being delivered in state of the art modern executive facilities, we are firmly embedded within the University of Oxford with its rich heritage and traditions. Participants are invited to dinner at one of the historic colleges, and we typically organise a guided evening tour of the historic city. We also embed university resources into our programmes, running sessions at the Ashmolean Museum, St Mary’s church where the University was founded and elsewhere.

Combining world leading research and practical knowledge

Cutting-edge academic theory is mixed with extensive practitioner experience. Leading Oxford academics from other disciplines illuminate the broader global context, fostering dialogue and debate about the real issues of business, combining with global experts providing practical business concepts and solutions.

Our open programmes are ranked No. 1 in the UK as compiled by the Financial Times 2016, and 9th globally. Our strengths are highlighted include: quality of participants including their internationality, new skills development, long-term learning, programme follow-up and aims achieved.

Personal interaction and peer to peer learning

Oxford brings together diverse senior level executives from across the world. This means that participants benefit from discussing strategic questions with peers from regions at different stages of the economic cycle.

An enduring experience

All participants who join one of our programmes will enter into a relationship that will last a lifetime. Participants’ experiences in Oxford are only the beginning of a journey of learning that helps to make positive changes and deliver truly significant business and personal impact, through a reshaping and enhancement of the individual approach.

Moreover, through joining our global Oxford Business Alumni network participants will further develop their relationship with Oxford and like-minded senior individuals from across the globe.
