170 of Saïd Business School’s current cohort of MBA students have participated in the MBATs, a yearly sports tournament of MBA students across the world, and have won the tournament overall for the first time.
The tournament, which has been held each year at HEC Paris since its conception in 1991, is the largest global gathering of MBA students in the world, and provides them with an opportunity to network with sponsors and peers as well as demonstrate their sporting ability. It offers competitions in 25 different sports, with 21 top business schools and universities from around the world participating this year, including rivals London Business School, IMD, Stanford and Cambridge Judge.
Oxford Saïd’s victory was a result of 10 gold, 4 silver, and 4 bronze medals. The School’s participation was largely organised by MBA Sports Reps Sasha Truong and Olivier Siegelaar.
‘My favourite part of the competition was seeing people come together to show their talents and parts of their personalities that you normally don't get to see,’ said Sasha, ‘Olivier and I were incredibly proud to see how we all supported each other and never gave up.’
