MFE international module

Shanghai international module - Ken Okamura

The MFE programme begins with three days of training in 'financial markets and institutions' which takes place in a major financial centre; in past years, students have visited London, New York, Shanghai and Hong Kong.

Please note: the exact timing and locations for future years are yet to be confirmed.

Nicolas Hartmann attended the programme in 2015-2016 and chose to attend the module in New York. He commented, “I chose the international module in New York as I previously studied at Columbia and have a strong affinity with the city. It was not only very exciting to meet my fellow students, but I was also very impressed by the high-calibre programme that had been organised.

“We had the chance to combine learning about the global financial markets from professors who recently advised on the debt crisis while being exposed to the practical world through events with hedge funds, investments banks, and alumni who worked on Wall St. Overall, the international module was a phenomenal experience and after the week in New York, I was thrilled to meet the rest of the students in Oxford.”

The class came together in Oxford for their official induction, which was followed by two weeks of pre-course lectures. Offering students a truly international experience, this new module has become an exciting part of the experience of the MFE programme.
