Oxford MBA and Schwarzman Scholars partnership
Our collaboration with Schwarzman Scholars allows you the opportunity to complete both the Schwarzman Scholars-Tsinghua University Master of Global Affairs and the Oxford MBA.
You apply independently but simultaneously to both programmes, and if successful start the Oxford MBA upon successful completion of your Master of Global Affairs as Schwarzman Scholars. You will receive coordinated advice through the admissions process and in your first year, to allowyou to combine the two degrees to maximum benefit.
The Schwarzman Scholars is a highly selective programme designed to prepare the next generation of global leaders for the geopolitical landscape of the 21st century. Each year, up to 200 Schwarzman Scholars from around the world will complete the one-year Master’s in Global Affairs at Tsinghua University in Beijing as well as benefit from cultural immersion and networking opportunities in China. Completing the Oxford MBA builds on and complements the work students do as Schwarzman Scholars, challenging them to create entrepreneurial solutions to complex global challenges and to further develop the soft skills needed for impact in their work and career.

What is the admission process and timeline for applying the Oxford MBA programme?
Schwarzman Scholars who want to further expand their knowledge of global business after their year at Tsinghua are encouraged to apply for the Oxford MBA. The Saïd Business School’s MBA is unique in many ways, providing students an opportunity to study in a truly global community with talented people who are leading innovation to tackle some of the world’s greatest challenges. Oxford provides an exclusive learning environment in which individuals are challenged and supported to think differently and to reach their full potential.

To be considered for our programme, you will need to apply directly to Saïd Business School. Start your application. Once you have registered for an online application, please select ‘Schwarzman Scholars Scheme’.
We recommend you apply in Stage 4, deadline 17 March 2017. If you submit your application by this deadline, interview decisions will be released on the 8 April, a final decision on whether you have gained admission to the programme will be sent to you by 29 April. If you already meet the entry requirements for our MBA, you are also welcome to apply in earlier stages.
What are the admissions requirements for the Oxford MBA?
We are looking for candidates with outstanding potential and motivation for leadership and global impact.
The MBA Admissions Committee considers a wide range of criteria for admission to the programme you need to meet the following requirements:
- An undergraduate degree
- Relevant professional experience
- GMAT or GRE score
- English test (if English is not your first language)
- 2 References
- 3 Essays
- A one page CV
I have limited work experience. Am I eligible to apply to Oxford MBA?
Schwarzman Scholars are welcome to apply with limited work experience. We review applications holistically and consider multiple dimensions of your experience.
If I was a finalist but not chosen for Schwarzman Scholars, can I still apply for the Schwarzman – Oxford programme?
We suggest you think about the Oxford MBA 1+1 programme, in which you can combine a one year MSc in one of many areas or an MPP with the MBA. More information about the MBA 1+1.
If I am admitted by Schwarzman Scholars, does the Schwarzman Scholarship cover the Oxford MBA?
No, it does not. You may apply for other scholarships to cover your MBA year at Oxford. If you are an MBA 1+1 applicant, you may want to consider the Pershing Square Scholarship, Scholarship decisions for Oxford MBA are made independently by Saïd Business School, University of Oxford.
If I receive an offer to join the MBA programme at Oxford, what fees would I have to pay?
If you are admitted to the Oxford MBA, you will be charged the fees for the year of entry to the MBA eg if you are awarded a Schwarzman Scholarship in Nov 2016 and applying for Oxford MBA for 2018 entry, you will be charged the 2018-19 tuition fee. To secure your place on the programme you will be asked to pay a non-refundable deposit that amounts to 15% of the tuition fees by Jan 2018.
