Oxford Executive MBA
Global complexity and risk
The themes of globalisation and complex decision-making are emphasised throughout the programme and as a consequence graduates of the Oxford Executive MBA are not afraid to think big, taking on some of the world’s most complex problems and capitalising on international opportunities.
These global themes are supported by ground-breaking research taking place at the University’s many research centres, examining pressing issues such as the impact of ageing populations, threats to cyber-security, the causes of international financial meltdown and the reliance on ever-diminishing natural resources.

Global Opportunities and Threats Oxford (GOTO)
Saïd Business School is part of an international university, a community of scholars studying the complexities of the world we live in.
The GOTO initiative is an action-oriented problem-solving community geared towards addressing some of the most complex issues that the world faces today. Students, alumni and faculty can connect via this online platform to discuss, debate, and drive new business ideas that address international issues. The GOTO community addresses problems across generations, across nations and across business sectors.
As an Oxford Executive MBA student, you will be able to examine big existential threats such as global warming, food and water shortage, debt crisis, and other issues that will shape business agendas of the next decades. Our next topic is The Future of Healthcare.
Past topics have included:
- Demographic Change
- Big Data
- Water Management & Markets
- The Future of Work
This initiative is integrated within the Oxford Executive MBA programme through a range of broader activities that are open to current students, alumni, and the larger Oxford community. We will collaborate with the Blavatnik School – the new School of Government – the Institute for Climate Change, the Institute of Ageing, the Internet Institute and others.
