FAQs

Do I need to have a degree?

A good undergraduate degree (at least 2:1) is usually required. Applicants may also be considered if they hold a relevant professional qualification.

How many years' work experience is required?

This programme is designed for people with at least 5 years of professional experience. However, most participants have more than 10 years of professional experience.

Are there any age restrictions?

There are no age restrictions, but applicants need to demonstrate they have the intellectual ability and relevant professional experience to join in strategic level group discussions.

Do I need to have a strategy background?

You do not need to have a background in strategy but you must be able to demonstrate senior-level management experience which will enable you to take part in high-level discussions on strategy and business within the programme and to complete the programme assessments. The programme has been designed both for those with strategy experience and for senior-level executives who want to develop an advanced strategic understanding to benefit their organisation’s success and competitiveness.

How can I apply?

Please complete the online form which can be found on the how to apply page. You will be asked to outline your objectives for the programme and to prepare a personal statement of up to 500 words. Please provide details of two people who will be contacted to supply a standard reference form. All applications are subject to review and approval by the admissions committee.

What is the deadline for applications?

Please be aware that we operate a rolling admissions process with deadlines throughout the year, which you can view on our How to Apply page.

We recommend that you apply early in the year as:

• We cannot guarantee that there will be places left by the end of the admissions process.
• Attendance at all modules is compulsory, so an early offer will enable effective planning.

If an admissions deadline is stated on our website and this date has passed, it will still be possible to process your application if there are places available.

How should I write my personal statement?

As part of the application process you will be required to submit a 500 word personal statement. This should focus on specific current or emergent issues that you think the Diploma will help address in your organisation.

Do you offer scholarships or financial aid?

There is a Scholarship for Women available for the Diploma in Strategy and Innovation. Candidates who have submitted a completed application and receive an offer will automatically be considered for this Scholarship. To find out more, please visit the Scholarship for Women page.

Visit the Professional and Career Development Loans website for more information.

Do I have to start the programme in February?

The Diploma starts in February each year, and cannot be joined at other times. Participants are required to attend and successfully complete all 4 modules and assessments.
