Oxford BA in Economics and Management
You will choose to do five of your eight compulsory papers in the second year, although it is possible to do six. Each lecture course has a set of tutorials or classes to accompany it, similar to the programme in the first year. You would expect to do one or two sets of tutorials each term. Depending on your choices, the lectures might not be held in the same term as the tutorials.
You will take the compulsory Economics papers of Macro-Economics, Micro-Economics and Quantitative Economics. You will take one each term of the second year.
You are also required to do at least two Management papers. There are no compulsory set papers and have a free choice.
|2nd year Economics papers
You must do all three
|2nd year Management papers
You can choose any two (or three)
|Macro-Economics||Entrepreneurship and Innovation|
|Organisational Behaviour and Analysis|
|Technology and Operations Management|
There are no examinations at the end of the second year. However, throughout the year, your college will set you informal examinations in college, known as 'collections'. These are based on past papers, and will give you an idea of your progress and how you are doing in comparison with your college peers.
Please note the options above are illustrative and may change. There may also be restrictions on numbers able to take some options in a particular year. Students may substitute a thesis on a topic of their own choosing for one optional course.
At the end of the third year, you will take examinations (Finals) in each of your compulsory and optional courses.
