In today’s fast-moving digital environment, technologies are changing rapidly.
My transformation journey began with taking on the role as program manager for the global cloud technology department. I am at the forefront of this transformation, with leading a diverse cloud community of more than 2,000 colleagues worldwide. This is an exciting experience because I can navigate new territory in this fast-moving changing industry.
While staying ahead of emerging technologies is important, it is crucial to align the objectives of our technology initiatives with the diverse need of global stakeholders. Our achievements are enriched by unique cultural nuances and technical capabilities from each region around the world. Another key aspect is leading effective collaboration with technical service providers worldwide, as they bring their methodologies and cultural perspectives to contribute to a dynamic and innovative working environment.

I recognized the importance of enhancing my leadership skills. I also believe that lifelong learning is crucial to overcome challenges and seize new opportunities. To archive these, I planned to engage in more formal training programs and connect with experienced leaders across various industries. This led me to participate in the Oxford Women's Leadership Development Programme, which transform the individuals who, in turn, transform the world. The diversity of participants in the program has broadened my understanding of leadership.
My key takeaways from the program experience are as follows:
- Difference between leadership and management: Leadership is about change, whereas management deals with control and outcomes. This distinction highlights the relational and contextual nature of leadership, against the hierarchical views.
- Level of context and blended styles: The nature of leadership styles is situational and usually involves the blending of styles to handle complex situations. An effective leader moves along a continuum of context and adjust his/her application of style based on the needs of followers.
- Individual success together: Effective leadership can be achieved through collaboration and shared success. Leaders can create such an environment where innovation and collaboration ignite the team's strengths.
After completing the program, I successfully led two major global upskilling initiatives, engaging over 1,500 participants from around the world, both online and in person. The skills I developed to ensure these initiatives resonated with diverse audiences proved invaluable. The support and collaboration from various teams were key factors in the success of these large-scale events. The insights and strategies I have gained have been instrumental in engaging stakeholders and ensuring both initiatives were successful.

Another significant highlight of my accomplishments is receiving the prestigious global award from Google Cloud for Innovation and Collaboration, which reflects the success we have achieved together in driving impactful initiatives.
Looking ahead, I am enthusiastic about leading initiatives that harness new technologies while promoting inclusivity and collaboration across various sectors. I envision a future where continuous learning and adaptability empower us to explore new ways of addressing challenges. I will continue to advocate for continuous learning and adaptability, and inspiring others to push boundaries and think creatively. Let’s work together to make a difference and create a lasting positive impact.
