Reflections from the Rewley lecture and dinner
As I stood before the esteemed gathering at the Rewley lecture and dinner, I was filled with a profound sense of gratitude for the opportunity to share my experiences and express my heartfelt appreciation to the generous donors who have made my journey possible.
The lecture by Laurence Moroney, AI Advocate at Google, was an inspiring call to action, urging us to move beyond the inflated expectations and doom-and-gloom narratives that often surround AI. He eloquently reminded us that the future is not predetermined, and that we have the power to shape it in a positive way.
Beyond the lecture, I was moved by the culture of generosity embodied by our donors. Their commitment to funding education echoed in the scholars' stories, including my own journey as an Intesa Sanpaolo scholar. I was grateful for the chance to meet my donor, Stefano Lucchini, whose support has been invaluable in enabling me to pursue my MBA at Oxford. The event served as a powerful reminder that education truly transforms lives. I look forward to paying that support forward one day as an alumnus. It was an evening that sparked hope and inspiration about how shared vision and values can shape our future.
