As I sit here, reminiscing about my time at Oxford, a bittersweet feeling washes over me. The MBA Ball, one of the final days our cohort will spend together before we scatter to different corners of the globe, has left me in a reflective mood. This grand event, filled with laughter, music, and a touch of elegance, marked the culmination of an incredible journey—a journey that began with trepidation and uncertainty.
I still remember the first weeks of our MBA program, feeling both excited and terrified. Oxford, with its centuries-old buildings and scholarly aura, was intimidating. I wondered if I would make it through, constantly questioning my abilities and whether I truly belonged. But as I look back now, I realise that those fears were all part of the process, a rite of passage, if you will. The support of my cohort was instrumental in overcoming these doubts. They stood by me, pushing me to maximise my potential and believe in myself.
What stands out most in my mind is the diversity of our cohort. People from all walks of life, different cultures, and varied professional backgrounds came together, creating a rich tapestry of experiences and perspectives. This diversity was not just a talking point but a living, breathing part of our daily lives. We learned from each other, challenged each other, and grew together. It is this eclectic mix that made our discussions vibrant and our friendships so special.
As we danced the night away at the MBA Ball, I couldn't help but feel a pang of sadness. The realisation that we would soon be drifting apart—some heading off to internships, others staying on—was a sobering thought. But amidst the melancholy, there was also gratitude. Grateful for the memories we've made, the lessons we've learned, and the bonds we've forged. These friendships, I hope, will stand the test of time.
The hope that our friendship lasts forever is a sentiment I believe many of us share. The experiences we've had here in Oxford have created a unique bond that I trust will endure. Whether it’s a shared laugh over a late-night study session, a heated debate in the classroom, or the quiet moments of reflection, these are the memories that will stay with us.
I also hope that we have made the most of our days in Oxford. This city, an academic Disneyland, has offered us countless opportunities to learn, explore, and grow. From the academic rigor of our coursework to the simple pleasure of a stroll along the Bridge of Sighs, every moment has been a chance to enrich our lives.
As our paths diverge, I carry with me the lessons learned, the friendships formed, and the memories created. The MBA journey at Oxford has been a transformative experience, one that I will cherish forever. Here’s to hoping that our future endeavours are as fulfilling and that the bonds we've built remain strong, no matter where life takes us.
With a heavy heart but a hopeful spirit, I bid farewell to this chapter of our lives, looking forward to the new adventures that await us, and holding onto the hope that our paths will cross again.
