Anders Krohn left Oxford University to take his startup to the next level. Now he’s raised $4.2m.
Aula is a communication platform for educational institutions that was co-founded by Oxford BA in Economics and Management alumnus Anders Krohn. The platform works as a ‘digital campus’ which seeks to replace the emails and learning management systems the education sector has relied upon until now. The concept has proved successful: in its latest seed round, Aula raised $4.2 million, and the company now employs more than 20 people from 10 countries including six Oxford University alumni.
Prior to his studies at Oxford, Anders spent a year at the University of West Georgia, where he studied as a Rotary scholar. He then moved back home to Denmark, where he worked for consulting firm Aon Hewitt. ‘I recommend people take a little bit of time before they start their degree. It helps you to realise how the lessons you learn can be applied in the real world,’ he said.
