Rhonda Hadi, Associate Professor of Marketing at Saïd Business School and Fellow of Green Templeton College, has been reappointed to retiring age at Oxford.

Reappointment to retiring age, which is akin to tenure at Oxford, is awarded following extensive evaluation of research output, teaching and service during an initial period of office at the University.

On receiving the news, Rhonda commented: ‘It is an honour to receive tenure at Oxford Saïd. The Business School and greater Oxford community are both intellectually enriching and stimulating, and I am excited to be part of a continuously growing and forward-looking Marketing group.'

Rhonda Hadi

Associate Professor of Marketing

Throughout her academic career, Rhonda has taught various marketing courses, including Marketing Management, Consumer Behaviour and New Product Development, to audiences ranging from undergraduate students to executives. In addition to teaching the core marketing course for the MBA and EMBA programmes at Oxford Saïd, she currently teaches electives on Strategic Consumer Insights and the Digital Transformation of Marketing, Media and Advertising.

Rhonda’s research primarily focuses on consumer interactions with technology and sensory marketing, specifically how sensory experiences can affect consumer judgments and experiences. Her work has important implications for both industry and public policy and carries the potential for significant impact, with findings offering several noteworthy considerations for retailing, product design, brand management, and marketing communications. Recent paper, Good vibrations: Consumer responses to technology-mediated haptic feedback, for instance, finds that accompanying text messages with a sensory alert (e.g., vibrations from a fitness watch/tracker to signal a reminder to exercise) can improve consumer engagement. This is potentially significant for mobile marketers and gadget designers to consider the in the health and fitness sector.

Alongside her academic work, Rhonda continuously collaborates with Fortune 500 companies, start-ups, and non-profit organisations, with the goal of better understanding and improving consumer experiences.  She is also an active member of the Oxford Future of Marketing Initiative, a collaborative network of academic-industry partnerships led by Oxford Saïd, which aims to produce business-relevant research and practical thought leadership.
