The school is pleased to announce the launch of the Rewley Fund, which powers the Rewley Scholarship programme.
Saïd Business School has launched the Rewley Scholarship, building on the current alumni-funded scholarship.
The Rewley Scholarship enables Saïd Business School to reward excellence, attract the most talented candidates, increase diversity, and promote gender parity.
It is funded by alumni donations, and fundraising for the Rewley Fund forms the focal point of this year’s Giving Day on the 28 June.
At present, the alumni-funded scholarship is available only to students on MBA and MSc in Financial Economics programmes. The Rewley Fund aims to expand the scholarship to support students across all programmes.
Speaking on the importance of the alumni-funded scholarship, MFE 2015 Kevin Hirata said:
‘I am deeply grateful to have received one of the Alumni Annual Fund Scholarships. To me, the scholarship means that there are people who care about the continued success of Oxford, and in particular, the programs offered by the business school. It means that they care about helping younger, talented people obtain the world-class education that Oxford provides.’
Formerly known as the Alumni Annual Fund (AAF), the scholarship has been renamed to reflect the School’s history and the values it is taking into the future.
The scholarship is named in tribute to the 13th-Century Rewley Abbey, a place of learning that once stood on the site of Saïd Business School. Oxford Saïd continues the abbey’s scholarly tradition, reflecting its nature as a modern business school embedded within a much older university.
