Professor Robert Eccles received The Lifetime Achievement CSR Award 2018 at the 8th International Conference on Sustainability and Responsibility
The Award, from Humboldt-University Berlin, recognises esteemed scientists for their contribution to influence and shape the field of Corporate Social Responsibility.
Humboldt University’s Joachim Schwalbach, the initiator of the CSR-Conference series and the Award, hailed Robert Eccles as the leading authority on integrating reporting and integration of environmental, social and governance (ESG) factors in corporate decision-making.
During the ceremony Georg Kell, Chairman of Arabesque and founding Executive Director of the United Nations Global Compact said that Prof. Eccles had made enormously important contributions to the corporate sustainability movement by bringing together and connecting different professional communities, around the globe. He noted that ‘As a tireless networker, he has played a key role mainstreaming integrated reporting.’
In accepting the award Robert Eccles, Visiting Professor of Management Practice commented: ‘I am extremely grateful to receive this tremendous award. I firmly believe that the capital markets are the key to sustainable development and the focus of my work is enabling them to do so to as great a degree as possible. This will require commitment from companies, investors, and the public sector.’
