The University of Oxford has been ranked 4th in the world in the Accounting and Finance category, and 1st place in the UK, maintaining last year's position.

In the 2024 QS Rankings, the University placed 6th in the world in the Business and Management Studies category, up three places on last year, and 2nd in the UK. While the rankings look across the whole University, Saïd Business School has made significant contributions to the performance in these two categories, through our various programmes.

In both categories, Oxford placed 2nd in the world, just behind Harvard Business School, in the overall employment indicator, which is drawn from the survey responses of graduate employers worldwide. Employers are asked to identify institutions they consider excellent for the recruitment of graduates. They are also asked to identify the disciplines from which they prefer to recruit.

I am delighted to see our School’s programmes recognised as world leading. We are especially proud to receive such a vote of confidence from business’ as an exemplary place to recruit global talent.

Kathy Harvey

Associate Dean, MBA and Executive Degrees

Commenting on this year’s results Kathy Harvey, Associate Dean, MBA and Executive Degrees at Saïd Business School, said: ‘I am delighted to see our School’s programmes recognised as world leading. We are especially proud to receive such a vote of confidence from business' as an exemplary place to recruit global talent. These results demonstrate our commitment to delivering a world class education, and indeed the high calibre of the amazing students who choose to study with us, sharing in our mission to deliver impact through business.’

The 2024 edition of the Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) World University Rankings features 55 individual subjects across five broad subject areas.  The University of Oxford is one of 1,559 institutions in this year’s rankings, with 64 universities debuting that were not included in the 2023 edition.

Academic programmes are ranked across five indicators to reflect their performance and considered for academic reputation, employer reputation, research citations per paper, H-index, and international research network (by broad faculty area).
