The programme will be the first to run under Hong Kong's new Centre of Excellence for Major Project Leaders
Saïd Business School, University of Oxford has announced the launch of a new project management and leadership development programme for senior government officials in Hong Kong.
The Major Projects Leadership Programme (MPLP) is the first programme to run at the Centre of Excellence for Major Project Leaders (CoE), launched under Hong Kong’s Development Bureau at an inaugural ceremony on July 22.
The MPLP will enhance the capabilities of senior government officials to manage major construction and public works projects across Hong Kong. Starting in August, separate cohorts will attend the 12-month MPLP with around 150 major project leaders due to complete the MPLP under the CoE in the coming three years.
Bent Flyvbjerg, Director of the Major Projects Leadership Programme commented: ‘I’m really pleased to launch the first programme for the new Centre of Excellence for Major Project Leaders. Drawing on our research into pioneering ways of understanding and dealing with new challenges in major programmes, this programme will help project leaders to successfully formulate policies for and plan, manage and deliver successful projects in Hong Kong.’
