Understanding outcomes of data-driven research
On 11 December 2018 OXIRM co-hosted the annual Oxford Retail Futures conference with the Consumer Data Research Centre.
This year’s topic was ‘Understanding outcomes of data-driven research in retailing’.
Conference contributions included research from six countries (The Netherlands, Switzerland, Finland, Italy, Portugal and UK), with delegates from academia and business with a wide range of backgrounds attending including economics, geography, urban planning, marketing and behavioural science.
Dr Les Dolega (University of Liverpool) started the day off with his keynote presentation on ‘Consumer data and retail analytics’ and was followed by a series of fascinating short presentations covering three topic areas (built environment, customer touchpoints, technology adoption) followed by intense panel Q&A sessions facilitated by Dr Jonathan Reynolds and Dr Richard Cuthbertson.
The day concluded with Professor Cristina Ziliani (University of Parma) summarising the key points made, giving valuable insight on the presented papers.
