Female-led start-ups affiliated to Oxford University are invited to apply for the Oxford Foundry’s L.E.V8 Women pre-accelerator programme.
Now in its second year, the programme aims to encourage, empower and nurture Oxford's current and future female leaders and founders to pursue their entrepreneurial purpose.
The aim of the Foundry is to help students become more entrepreneurial, so that they leave Oxford with practical skills to go into the workforce or start their own businesses. Venture creation, growth and support is a major focus. The Foundry offers an accelerator programme, OXFO L.E.V8, and regular skills training and events for students, as well as a physical space for them to pursue their entrepreneurial ambitions.
Increasing diversity in entrepreneurship is one of the Foundry’s core aims – recent global reports show that only two out of every 10 ventures are currently founded or led by women - and so in July 2018, L.E.V8 Women was born.
The programme, which takes up to 12 founders a year, includes learning workshops, resources, guidance and advice from industry experts. It also provides participants with access to a strong and diverse network of business leaders from a range of backgrounds and industries, who can guide and mentor the teams as they progress through the programme.
