The list celebrates 30 thinkers with the potential to make lasting contributions to management theory and practice.
Michael, Associate Professor in Management and Organisation Studies, has been described by Thinkers50 as an 'up and coming voice of leadership.'
This announcement highlights Michael's work as the lead researcher and author of The CEO Report, which examines how the role of the CEO is changing in the current business environment. His research on professional service firms, especially their internationalisation, innovation and regulation, was also recognised. His research in this area focuses on the management of global law, consulting and reinsurance firms.
Michael says that he is 'very proud and humbled to be on the radar of Thinkers50.'
'Being considered the up and coming voice of leadership is a big responsibility. As societies are becoming more divided and polarised, organisations need - now more than ever- to become spaces of diversity, inclusion, and community. That’s a big challenge, but also a big opportunity for management and organisation scholars to have a lasting and positive impact.'
Thinkers50’s co-founder, Des Dearlove, said of this year's list: 'This is as powerful a group as we have ever identified in our annual selection.'
He added: 'Thinkers50 is all about scanning the world for the very best in management ideas. We believe there is nothing so practical as a great idea, so we are constantly on the lookout for people who not only originate and articulate ideas, but also put them into compelling practice. These thinkers are global, original and worth watching in the years to come.'
