Launch of inaugural programme with Dubai Health Leadership Academy

A transformative new programme will create a sustainable pipeline of healthcare leadership talent in the United Arab Emirates.

Developed in collaboration with Saïd Business School at the University of Oxford, the Dubai Health Leadership Academy's unique initiative was launched at a special ceremony hosted by Dubai Health, in Dubai.

The Academy is committed to fostering a collaborative culture of leadership at all levels within Dubai’s academic health system and promoting efficient operations, all leading to an elevated standard of care for patients and their families. The inaugural programme of the academy is titled the Systems Leadership Program (SLP). 

This significant step towards advancing healthcare leadership was developed when Dubai Health signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Oxford Saïd in May 2023. This partnership, solidified through the MOU, has given rise to the SLP, the Academy's inaugural program. The SLP will equip participants with the knowledge, skills, and attitudes necessary to navigate complexity, foster innovation, and cultivate cultures of excellence and safety within Dubai Health.

 

As we inaugurate the Systems Leadership Program, we hope to create a cadre of leaders with the knowledge, skills and attitude to transform healthcare delivery for the benefit of patients and serve the mission of the integrated academic health system.

The inaugural Systems Leadership Program is an intensive 14-month initiative focused on generative leadership and systemic change, the programme equips Dubai Health’s leaders with the skills to drive innovation, foster a culture of accountability, and lead transformative projects. Delivered primarily in person, it includes four comprehensive modules covering strategic leadership, healthcare innovation, patient safety, and building a high-performance culture. Participants benefit from personalised coaching sessions with seasoned executive coaches and insights from leading experts at Oxford, ensuring both global perspectives and tailored guidance for Dubai’s healthcare needs.

Dubai Health, the first integrated academic health system in Dubai, was established to elevate the standard of care and to advance health for humanity.
