Hollywood to The Hague? The cinematic true story of Eric Clement's Oxford success is listed for a prize at the Hague International Film Festival next month.
Professor Ludovic Phalippou is next month taking his ground-breaking cinematic Oxford Saïd true story, Redeveloping Hope, to the International Film Festival in The Hague. The professionally acted film is based on the true life of Eric Clement, a US pro baseball player, who came to Oxford Saïd, took an Executive MBA (EMBA), and became a finance professional – via the Bronx.
After his EMBA, Eric took a job at the New York’s Economic Development Corporation (EDC), the official economic development organisation for New York City. The short movie focuses on the transformation of an infamous juvenile prison, the Spofford Detention Centre in the Bronx, developed into a modern industrial building, with a subsequent set of affordable apartments to be built alongside it.
