The Seed Fund team at Saïd Business School, Oxford is pleased to announce two new investments made in August 2016. The team has chosen to invest in BioMe Oxford and in UPROSA. Both companies have at least one Oxford University alum on their founding teams, and each has secured an investment of £25k to enable them to develop their business.

It is with immense sadness we have learned that our exceptional and inspirational colleague, Dr Pamela Hartigan passed away on Friday 12th August 2016 following a long illness. Our thoughts are with Dr Hartigan’s husband and two children. Having made such an impact on Oxford Saïd and the wider world, she will be hugely missed.

Three of Oxford Saïd’s MBA stars qualified for the Rio Olympics. Shelley Pearson is studying a 1+1 MBA, and is representing her home country of Bermuda in the women’s single in rowing. Mari Rabie is an MBA alumna and South African Triathlete. George Bridgewater is an experienced Olympian who graduated from the MBA in 2009.

The first cohort of Leading and Transforming Family Businesses–China recently completed their studies at three leading business schools and graduated in Boston. The programme comprises of three modules over five months, held in Beijing, Boston, and Oxford. It covers all aspects of leadership and management for family firms in China.

Two exceptional female candidates have been awarded with scholarships for the forthcoming September iteration of the world-class 21-month Oxford Executive MBA. Kathy Harvey, Director of the Executive MBA noted, "we are extraordinarily privileged to receive applications from some of the most talented women in management and leadership positions."
