Maintenance Technician (2 posts)

We are seeking two Maintenance Technicians to join the Estates team at Saïd Business School. The School occupies three locations in Oxford including an award-winning location in the city centre and a site on the edge of the city at Kennington, Egrove Park. As part of this role you will be expected to work across all sites.

This is a busy role and you must be comfortable with changing priorities. Working hours are 36.5 working hours per week with weekend work on a periodic rotational basis and some evening work with the requirement to be available for out-of-hours emergencies.

Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring that the day-to-day maintenance work of the School’s different sites and buildings are undertaken in a timely, effective and efficient manner. With the emphasis on customer service and impeccable building presentation, you will work proactively and often independently to ensure that the school’s buildings are maintained to a high standard at all times, and that the systems are maintained in line with current legislation. You will be working as part of an established maintenance team, where you will not only have the chance to develop your own skills and experience, but you can benefit from a wealth of experience and support from within the team.

Ideally you will be qualified in NVQ 3/City and Guilds, or equivalent, in electrical/mechanical installation/maintenance but we will consider candidates who have relevant experience in a related subject or role. You will have good knowledge of all general maintenance, be competent in the use of hand/power tools and associated safety equipment, and have the ability to work to deadlines. A professional approach with a personable manner is essential as you will be in contact with a range of people on a daily basis. A full clean driving licence is essential in order to be able to drive vehicles to collect and move equipment/materials across Oxford on a daily basis.

All applications are to be made online. Please submit a CV and cover letter.

The closing date for applications is 12.00 noon on 17 October 2018.
