Hermes GPE Private Markets Challenge
Hermes GPE is a leading investor in global private equity with assets under management (AUM) of £4 billion and a track record that spans more than 25 years. A joint venture between Hermes GPE's management team and multi-asset manager Hermes Investment Management, they specialise in providing their global institutional client base with tailored investment solutions that span both funds and co-investments.
The firm predominantly targets mid-market buyouts displaying Core and Growth characteristics and to date have invested in over 200 funds and over 100 co-investments. Hermes GPE is an active proponent of responsible investing and a signatory of the UN-backed Principles for Responsible Investing.
Hermes GPE has a team of 18 investment professionals across offices in London, New York, and Singapore.
How to enter
MBA/MFE/MLF students registered in the Oxford Saïd Finance Lab were invited to take part in the 2018 Hermes GPE Private Markets Challenge.
The four shortlisted teams were invited to present at the Hermes GPE Offices in London with a networking dinner.
Members of the winning team are guaranteed the opportunity to interview for a 12-week summer internship as part of the Hermes GPE private equity investment team covering both direct and fund investments. This is a paid position beginning June 2018.
Shortlisted to attend the finals were two Oxford Saïd teams, a team from London Business School and a team from Cambridge Judge Business School.
The winning team was again from Oxford Saïd comprising of Artem Katilov, Mats Multhaupt and Rohit Vardhan.
An Oxford Saïd MBA team, comprised of Jothan Webb, Tara Gooding and Oscar Gonzalez, was the winner of this year's Hermes GPE challenge, defeating two teams from London Business School. Read the whole article here.
