Management Science teaching
Ho-Yin Mak currently teaches the Analytics core course to MBA students. Prior to joining Saïd Business School, Ho-Yin also taught courses in Management Science, Supply Chain Optimisation, Logistics Planning and Service Management at undergraduate, master’s and doctoral levels at the University of California at Berkeley and the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology.
James Taylor currently teaches the Analytics core course to MBA and Executive MBA students. He has also taught a similar course for the Master of Public Policy at the University’s Blavatnik School of Government. Periodically, he teaches the Statistical Research Methods course to the Business School’s DPhil students, and has previously taught an elective on Time Series Forecasting to students on MBA and Finance Masters courses. Beyond his teaching in Oxford, James has taught short courses in analytics and forecasting at a number of organisations, including BSkyB, General Electric, National Grid Company, Oxford University Press, and Tesco.
Siddharth Arora currently teaches the Analytics core course to MBA students at Oxford Saïd. He has also taught the Statistical Research Methods course to the school’s DPhil students. He teaches the Advanced Financial Data Analysis and Econometrics of Volatility courses to Masters in Mathematical and Computational Finance (MScMCF) students at the Mathematical Institute, Oxford. The Analytics course has strong links to other business school subject areas, especially finance, marketing and operations management. The teaching emphasises practical application and user-level understanding. For example, Excel is used widely to illustrate how to apply the methods introduced.
