About the event
The Innovation Think Tank Department of Siemens Healthcare event aims to develop innovative solutions for real-world problems in healthcare.
This is the continuation of the successful workshops conducted in the past years across the Globe.
This event was created by Prof. Sultan Haider, Founder and director of Innovation Think Tank, Siemens Healthcare GmbH, Germany. Prof. Haider has filed over 400 inventions and patents and has established 9 innovation labs in Germany, China, India, Turkey, UK and USA. He holds guest faculty positions in several world-renowned institutions and is also a director Innovation Research Lab at Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg, Germany. In this event, Prof. Haider will teach the training course himself.
Who can participate?
Students from the disciplines: Engineering( B-Tech / M-Tech/ MMST), Management (BBA or MBA), Medical (MBBS / MD, Radiology, Nursing). Selected students will be invited for a two-day certification course on Innovation Management organised at Siemens Magnet Technology Ltd., Oxford. Interested employees from Siemens Magnet Technology and Oxford University Hospitals can also apply.
Please submit your application along with a CV and a maximum of three ideas on 'Healthcare of the future' as well as ideas/solutions for the current pain-points you have observed. Idea submission categories may also be from any of the following categories in healthcare: digitalisation, industrialisation, automation, patient-centric care, hospital of the future, healthcare system of the future etc., or a solution for any of the current issues in healthcare system. Maximum number of pages for the idea description including figures is 10. Minimum of two concepts/solutions should be explained with the following details:
- Problem statement/Challenge/requirement of the concept
- Designs/schematics/sketches/flow charts if any
- What is new in your concept compared to the existing technology/scenario
- Feasibility of your concept
The applicants can apply individually or as a team of maximum three members. The team members need not necessarily be from same stream or institution. This distinction is only for the selection process. The team formation during the workshop shall be decided by us.

There are 25 spaces in total and participation within the program is assured based on a first come first serve principle.
The three best teams will also receive awards equivalent to:
- £600 for First position
- £400 for Second position
- £200 for Third position
All the participants will receive a certificate.
