Speakers

Alexis McGivern is Head of Stakeholder Engagement and a Research Fellow at Oxford Net Zero, working to translate academic research on net zero into guidance for corporations, civil society, policymakers and the standards community to reach net zero by 2050. She works to strengthen the integrity of net zero targets, including through addressing justice and equity concerns of net zero. 

Alexis co-created and runs the Global Youth Climate Training Programme, a collaboration between Oxford and the Global Youth Coalition, which has trained 5,000 young climate activists on the UNFCCC negotiations since 2023. She is Co-Programme Director of the Oxford Sustainable Business Programme, a sustainability leadership course in Oxford. 

Aasim Hameed is a prominent leader & strategist with twenty-five years of diversified experience managing large-scale transformation, developing real estate and infrastructure projects, managing assets and operating facilities, with best-in-class environmental sustainability and ESG strategies across the Middle East, including governmental programmes associated with the Saudi Vision 2030 and UAE Vision 2021. Aasim has held and led multiple leadership roles and had the honour of presenting to HRH Prince Mohammed bin Salman the Sustainability & ESG Strategy and speaking at the Paris Olympic Committee Environmental Ambition Forum. 

Sarah- Jane Denton has over 20 years of experience, working in private practice in large international law firms, and for corporates, start-ups and third sector organisations in-house.  

Her practice is now focused on advising corporates and financial services firms on UK, EU and international environmental, climate, sustainability and corporate governance matters. Sarah-Jane has particular expertise in climate and sustainability reporting regimes and their impacts on UK and international businesses. Her practice extends to human rights, supply chain risk and related social issues under the ESG umbrella. 

Jeremy Osborn is an accounting iconoclast with deep experience of how sustainability catalyses systems change. Jeremy is AICPA & CIMA’s Global Head of Sustainability, supporting the accountancy profession through AICPA & CIMA’s members, students and engaged professionals in 196 countries and territories to embed sustainability into their organisations and then measure and communicate the value this is creating for their investors and other stakeholders.   

Prior to joining the Association, Jeremy worked for the Value Reporting Foundation (since consolidated into the IFRS Foundation) and the International Integrated Reporting Council, working with a wide variety of stakeholders and organisations to support the scaling and global adoption of sustainability accounting, integrated reporting and integrated thinking.

Richard is an experienced business leader working for Atkins Réalis as their UK&I Buildings and Places Market Director. Richard works with municipal and federal governments, transport providers, and the private sector across the UK&I to help them navigate the evolving demands of the urban environment. From the challenges of housing delivery and under-investment in regional transport to positioning our cities, towns and high streets for economic revival. The opportunity is to shape how the city regions take advantage of the focus and investments towards local growth to create thriving and connected places to live and do business.
