Stefano Lucchini is Head of International and Regulatory Affairs at the banking group Intesa Sanpaolo and Chairman of the Banca IMI Securities Corporation in the United States. He is the former Senior Executive Vice President for Public Affairs and Communication at ENI, the oil and gas conglomerate, and former Chairman of ENI USA.
He graduated in Economics and Business Administration from LUISS University in Rome and holds a degree from the INSEAD Business School. Stefano joined the Montedison Studies Department and after working as Assistant to the Chairman (Mr John D. Dingell-D) of the Energy and Commerce Committee at the U.S. House of Representatives of the Congress in Washington D.C., he was made Manager for Corporate Communication at Montedison USA in New York. Stefano was Head of Investor Relations at the Ferruzzi Montedison Group and has also served as Director of External Relations for Enel, Confindustria and Banca Intesa Group.
He is a Member of the Executive Board of ABI (Associazione Bancaria Italiana). He serves on the Board of Directors of LUISS University and is a member of the Advisory Board of the MBA Program LUISS. He is a fellow of the Foreign Policy Association in New York and a member of the Shanghai Social Science Academy. He is a member of the Board of Directors of the American Chamber of Commerce in Italy and serves on the Board of Directors of Banca Prossima. He is a member of the International Advisory Council and a member of the Foreign Policy Leadership Council of the Brookings Institution in Washington D.C.
Stefano is also a Professor at the “Alta Scuola” of Journalism at the Università Cattolica in Milan, where he is also a member of the Board of Evaluation.
He is a Commander and Honor Senior Officer of the Italian Republic and was awarded the Silver Cross by the Italian Red Cross. Stefano is the Chairman of the Vatican foundation, Benedetto XVI Pro Matrimonio et Familia.
